Speaker Instructions for Raving NEXT
Your Role
On our agenda page, you'll see different roles assigned to different speakers and presenters at the conference. Check out the different speaker types below:
Speaker
You are presenting by yourself or with a group of other speakers.
You are responsible for creating your presentation materials (handouts, ppt deck, etc.) and delivering the final files to the Raving team.
Make sure to schedule an in-person rehearsal with us to run through your session!
Moderator
You are leading a discussion with a group of panelists. You will be provided contact info for all panelists in your session by the Raving team!
You are responsible for contacting your panelists and working with them to develop your presentation deck and session materials as well as delivering the final presentation to the Raving team. Please contact us directly to schedule a rehearsal for you and your panelists!
Panelist
You are participating in a discussion with other panelists and a moderator. Your session moderator will be in contact with you regarding discussion points and input while they develop the presentation materials..
You are responsible for communicating with your session moderator and working with your fellow panelists to prepare session materials.
Breakout Session Presenters
You are presenting during our breakout sessions which repeat twice, once on Tuesday and once on Wednesday.
You are responsible for guiding your attendees through an exercise with key takeaways and best practices. You are responsible for preparing a presentation, and any handouts or worksheets to accompany the exercise.
Phil Donahue
AKA Q&A Moderator
If you've been selected as a Q&A moderator for a session (or as we say at Raving, a Phil Donahue), you help relay audience questions to the presenters from a handheld microphone.
TIP: If you are a "Phil," don't be afraid to have some questions ready to ask the presenters! We select experts who know the topics being discussed, so feel free to engage in the discussion!

Speakers receive Powerpoint templates, handout templates, contact info for fellow panelists, and more! Make sure you have registered for the event and check your email for Speaker updates from the Raving team. Download your session materials

Handouts are due! Our team will proof your session handouts and return the final proofed files to you! We will take care of printing and shipping these materials to be available during your session at the conference. Submit your handouts here!

Powerpoints are due! Submit your presentation deck and our team will return the final proofed files to you by January 23, 2024.

Speaker Orientation Session #2: Zoom! More info to come!
Speakers receive login access to Whova (our event mobile app). Instructions to log in, as well as pre-conference survey results, will be sent to presenters. If you haven't scheduled an in-person rehearsal for Monday, January 29th, do it now!
Speakers receive final presentations. The Raving conference team will prep and load final presentation files for day of show! During session rehearsals, speakers can review the walk-up and intro process, stage layout, podium laptop, clicker use, stage monitor etc. If you would like to schedule a rehearsal, click here!
Session Rehearsal Day! It is highly recommended to arrive at our host property the morning of (or day before) Monday, January 29, 2024 to take advantage of on-site rehearsals for your session. To schedule a time for A/V rehearsal with the Raving team, submit your reservation request here.

11:45 AM – 1:00 PM: Keynote Luncheon with Margo Gray
2:45 PM – 3:30 PM: Concurrent Breakout Sessions in breakout rooms
5:15 PM – 6:45 PM: Welcome reception on tradeshow floor

Attendees will have access to the conference platform for 60 days after the live event. They can watch recorded sessions after the live show and still ask questions. Please continue to monitor your sessions until the event platform is closed on Friday, March 31, 2024.

Review Your Headshot & Bio
Check out your speaker profile and confirm we have the correct headshot, title and bio listed for you! If you do not see your name listed, or if you need to make changes to your speaker profile, contact us!
Registration & Badges
All presenters and panelists need to register online for the event. You can register here, select to register as a "speaker." Please register by Friday, December 15, 2023. You can pick up your badge in-person at the event!

Download & Prepare Your Session Materials
Step #1: Download and Create Session Handouts
Download the blank handout template and create worksheets and/or session handouts for attendees! Handouts will be printed and made available to attendees as digital PDFs in our event mobile app! Make sure to submit all handouts to the Raving team by Friday, January 5, 2024 for printing.
We will provide all conference attendees a pen and notepad available at their seats.
Step #2: Download and Create Your Presentation Deck
Click below to download your presentation templates! Files are labeled by session name, date, time, and speaker last names. When you open the template, you will see premade slide layouts with instructions, content recommendations, and more! Contact us with any questions about downloading your materials. Submit your presentation decks by Friday, January 12, 2024!
Step #3: Send Over Session Videos (Optional)
Want to play a video during your session? No problem! Submit the video file as a .mp4 or .mov file type when you upload your presentation deck by Friday, January 12, 2024. Contact us with any questions!
Live Polling Questions - Optional!
How Does Live Polling Work? If you choose to add polling questions to your presentation,attendees can participate in polls LIVE during conference sessions via their mobile devices. Poll results will display live to both speakers and attendees, allowing for direct engagement and conversation.
The Raving team will take care of adding all polling slides to presentation decks during pre-show production. Just make sure to add them to your presentation deck using our template slides!

Speaker Orientations & Session Rehearsals
Speaker Orientation Sessions - NEW!
This year, Raving will be offering optional Speaker Orientation Sessions via Zoom to assist with any questions or session needs! Think of them as "office hours" for any speaker to join with ideas or inquiries to discuss. Speakers will receive an email in mid-December with options to RSVP for their desired dates and times, so stay tuned!
Schedule Your In-Person Rehearsal
All speakers can schedule an onsite rehearsal of their session with the Raving team to be held Monday, January 29, 2024. You may wish to arrive Sunday, or early Monday morning, to have the opportunity to rehearse in person. Please review our travel page for more information about our host property. Whova for Speakers - Our Event Mobile App
Access to Virtual Conference Platform
All Speakers will be sent login instructions and information for our event mobile app (Whova) prior to the day of show. It is highly recommended that you login, review session questions submitted by attendees, share session feedback, exchange contact info and more! Attendees will have access to the platform for 60 days, so you can still respond to questions and comments after the live event.
We will have a team of "Phil Donahues" in the room to moderate all questions coming in while you're presenting via the live polling feature, or prompt questions from the audience.
